Kick Off Football Season with a Fresh Herb & Garlic Cheese Dip! 🏈

College football Saturdays are back in full swing! Whether you're hosting a tailgate or enjoying the game from your couch, we’ve got just the dip to keep you and your guests cheering. This Fresh Herb and Garlic Cheese Dip is not only delicious but it also makes the most of September's in-season produce here in Georgia. Plus, you can eat it by dipping yummy local produce along with, or instead of, your chips! (That means you can eat more dip, right!?)

September brings cooler mornings and the promise of fall, but fields are still overflowing with vibrant flavors. Chives, basil, garlic, and chili peppers are all in their prime, and what better way to enjoy them than in a creamy, savory dip that's perfect for game day snacking?

Fresh Herb and Garlic Cheese Dip

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-2 fresh chili peppers, seeded and finely chopped (optional, for a little heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh veggies (like cucumber slices, carrot sticks, and green beans), chips, or crackers for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dip:
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth and well blended. Stir in the chopped chives, basil, minced garlic, and chili peppers (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Chill (Optional):
For best results, cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. This step is optional if you're short on time.
  3. Serve:
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Garnish with a sprinkle of extra chopped chives or a few thin slices of chili pepper on top for a bit of color. Serve with fresh veggies, chips, or crackers on the side.

This dip scores in flavor, and by buying local, we’re cheering on our hardworking farmers. Choosing locally grown, in-season produce is the easiest way to support Georgia’s largest industry – agriculture!

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
