On April 4th, known locally as 404 Day, we were honored to receive a proclamation from the Georgia General Assembly recognizing the powerful collaboration between the Metro Atlanta Coalition for Healthy Neighborhoods (MACHN), Wholesome Wave Georgia, and Retaaza. Together, we’ve been working hand-in-hand to address longstanding disparities in healthcare access, food security, and overall well-being across metro Atlanta.
This recognition is especially meaningful in a state where 1 in 8 Georgians, and 1 in 5 children, faces hunger. Our work is far from over, but moments like this remind us that we are making a difference. We’re grateful to Representatives Marvin Lim, Park Cannon, and Doreen Carter for lifting up this vital work and standing with us in our mission.
For Retaaza, this proclamation isn’t just a commendation, it’s a call to continue. It affirms the value of local, community-driven solutions to food insecurity and reinforces our belief that a more equitable food system is within reach when we work together. We are grateful!
