Retaaza is a social enterprise that strives to make local food more accessible and affordable, directly supports our communities’ farmers, reconnects consumers to their food, and feeds families struggling with food insecurity. We are building robust relationships with local farmers, community organizations, local businesses, and individuals to create a nimble, streamlined approach that is making a measurable impact economically, socially, and environmentally across our communities.
This can be a hybrid or remote position. Our HQ is in Atlanta at Atlanta Tech Village, and we have an office and warehouse on the Westside. Retaaza is seeking a skilled and driven Grant Writer &Coordinator to join our mission-focused team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities from a variety of sources,crafting compelling grant proposals and RFPs, tracking and reporting on progress towards grant deliverables, and ensuring alignment with our vision of transforming local food systems by connecting farmers to communities. We are looking for a detail-oriented and innovative professional who is passionate about making a tangible impact. This position is a key member of the team and will work cross-functionally to ensure Retaaza’s mission and impact are communicated effectively. They will play a key role in securing funding to support our initiatives and drive our mission forward.

Role Responsibilities
● Work cross-functionally between departments to create grant proposals and RFPs that assist in furthering Retaaza’s mission and work streams
● Conduct research on available grants, eligibility criteria, and potential partnerships
● Work with grantors to ensure mutual understanding and agreement on key details and deliverables
● Prepare and submit grant applications in accordance with specified requirements, ensuring all deadlines are met
● Work with and/or manage other grant writers
● Ensure high-quality proposals by utilizing templates, adhering to writing standards, and managing proposal support databases
● Write, edit, and revise drafts,including executive summaries, conclusions, letters of support, budgets, and organizational credentials to create polished and compelling proposals
● Develop comprehensive proposals by gathering and integrating information on project objectives, deliverables,methods, timelines, staffing, budgets, performance standards, and evaluation metrics
● Create and maintain an up-to-date FAQ document and a centralized repository of grant and RFP related information and documentation
● Track and manage a current pipeline of active and future grant opportunities and RFPs to monitor progress and deadlines
● Manage grant tracking related to deliverables, budgets, and reimbursements
● Submit and track grant reimbursements
Required Skills & Experience
● 3+ years experience with grant and RFP writing years in business development, sales, customer success, or a related role; experience in the food industry is a plus.
● Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal funding sources and the ability to locate potential sources for funding
● Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
● Thorough understanding of effective grant writing techniques
● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace Suite
● Extremely organized and meticulous with details
● Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources
● Ability to interpret financial data and prepare budgets and financial grant reports
● Ability to be discreet with personal information required for grants such as employee salaries or upcoming projects
● Familiarity with local food systems, sustainable food practices, local farming, sustainability, and food distribution is highly desirable.
