About Retaaza

Retaaza is a B Corp and social enterprise reimagining how local food reaches people and communities. We create stronger markets for farmers while making fresh, high-quality food more accessible through corporate programs, community markets, brand experiences, wholesale distribution, food-access initiatives, and other innovative models.

Our work happens where food, people, place, and purpose come together. From a corporate activation at an Atlanta workplace to a neighborhood market or community event, every Retaaza experience is an opportunity to introduce people to great local food, tell the stories of the people who grow it, and build a more connected regional food system.

About the Role

Retaaza is looking for a Field Marketing Specialist who enjoys interacting with people, creating engaging experiences, and bringing a brand to life in the real world. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in field marketing, experiential marketing, brand activations, events, trade shows, retail experiences, hospitality, promotions, or customer engagement who prefers being out in the field rather than sitting behind a desk. As a Field Marketing Specialist, you'll execute Retaaza's corporate activations, pop-up markets, community events, farm stands, and other live experiences throughout metro Atlanta. You'll be one of the primary faces of Retaaza in the field - creating welcoming environments, engaging customers, merchandising products, sharing our story, operating markets, and making sure each activation represents the Retaaza brand well.

This is a highly active, hands-on position. You'll work from established activation plans and standards while using your judgment to make each experience engaging, polished, organized, and successful. That also means being willing to roll up your sleeves. You'll help prepare products and activation materials, load vehicles, set up displays, move produce, operate point-of-sale systems, break down equipment, and return everything at the end of an activation. If you enjoy the energy of live events, like meeting new people, notice the details that make an experience feel special, and would rather be where the action is than behind a desk all day, this role may be for you.

What You'll Do

Execute Retaaza Activations & Experiences

You'll help turn activation plans into great experiences in the field.

  • Execute assigned corporate activations, community events, pop-up markets, farm stands, and other Retaaza field programs.
  • Review activation details, schedules, products, equipment, signage, promotional materials, and other requirements before each event.
  • Prepare, organize, load, and transport fresh produce, products, displays, signage, point-of-sale equipment, tents, tables, and other activation materials.
  • Drive either your personal vehicle (with mileage reimbursed) or a Retaaza company vehicle to activation locations throughout metro Atlanta.
  • Arrive on time and complete all required setup before the activation begins.
  • Set up products, displays, signage, and experiential elements according to Retaaza brand and activation standards.
  • Execute established activation plans while adapting to real-time conditions and customer needs.
  • Keep activation spaces organized, clean, safe, stocked, attractive, and customer-ready throughout the experience.
  • Break down and pack activation materials at the conclusion of events.
  • Return and properly check in products, equipment, and materials; complete required post-activation reporting; and leave vehicles and activation assets clean, organized, and ready for their next use.

Bring the Retaaza Brand to Life

You'll often be the person customers associate with Retaaza, so how you engage people matters.

  • Serve as a friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Retaaza brand ambassador.
  • Welcome customers and proactively start conversations.
  • Learn Retaaza's mission, products, farmers, and programs and communicate them clearly and authentically.
  • Help customers connect the food they're purchasing with the farmers and producers behind it.
  • Answer questions about products, pricing, programs, and Retaaza's impact.
  • Represent Retaaza professionally with corporate clients, host organizations, community partners, farmers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support experiential activities such as product sampling, demonstrations, educational activities, giveaways, promotions, and lead collection.
  • Create the kind of experience that makes customers want to engage with Retaaza again.

Create Great-Looking Experiences

Great field marketing isn't just about being present. How the experience looks and feels matters.

  • Merchandise products and displays in an attractive and engaging way.
  • Maintain Retaaza's visual and brand standards throughout each activation.
  • Pay attention to signage placement, product presentation, cleanliness, organization, and the overall customer environment.
  • Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation.
  • Restock and rotate products throughout activations as needed.
  • Notice when something could look or function better and take initiative to improve it.
  • Help ensure every activation feels intentional, welcoming, and distinctly Retaaza.

Operate Markets & Customer Transactions

Many Retaaza activations include a live retail component.

  • Operate assigned Retaaza markets and farm stands.
  • Confidently engage customers and help them navigate available products.
  • Operate point-of-sale systems and accurately process transactions.
  • Follow procedures for applicable payment and benefit programs.
  • Follow established procedures for inventory, cash handling, food safety, sales reporting, and market closeout.
  • Maintain an accurate and organized market environment throughout the shift.

Be Our Eyes & Ears in the Field

Because you're interacting directly with customers, you'll see and hear things that can help us improve.

  • Pay attention to customer questions, reactions, purchasing patterns, and feedback.
  • Share observations about what customers respond to and what could make activations stronger.
  • Identify opportunities to improve displays, signage, customer engagement, market flow, and activation execution.
  • Flag recurring operational issues or customer needs.
  • Complete required post-activation reporting, including sales, inventory, customer feedback, partner participation, and operational issues.
  • Share practical ideas that could make future Retaaza experiences more engaging, organized, or effective.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

You're a people person. You genuinely enjoy talking with customers, starting conversations, answering questions, and making people feel welcome.

You have a marketer's eye. You notice when a display could look better, signage isn't working, or there's an opportunity to make an experience more engaging.

You're also hands-on. You're just as comfortable setting up a display or moving a box of produce as you are talking with a corporate client or engaging customers.

You're dependable. Field marketing only works when people show up prepared and on time.

You're comfortable working independently. Once you understand the activation plan and expectations, you can execute without someone constantly looking over your shoulder.

And you're resourceful. Live events don't always go exactly according to plan, and you're comfortable solving everyday problems and asking for help when something needs to be escalated.

Experience We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Field marketing
  • Experiential marketing
  • Brand activations or brand ambassador programs
  • Event marketing
  • Trade shows, festivals, conferences, or live events
  • Pop-ups or mobile activations
  • Retail marketing or visual merchandising
  • Promotions or product sampling
  • Hospitality or guest experience
  • Community engagement
  • Farmers markets or food events

You don't need experience in every category. We're looking for someone who knows how to interact with people, execute well, and represent a brand professionally.

You'll Bring

  • Approximately 1–2 years of relevant field marketing, experiential, event, retail, hospitality, promotional, or customer-facing experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • A friendly, confident, and outgoing approach to customer engagement.
  • Strong attention to visual presentation and detail.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to follow activation plans and checklists.
  • Dependability and punctuality.
  • Comfort working independently in the field.
  • Ability to troubleshoot everyday problems and know when an issue needs to be escalated.
  • Comfort learning and operating point-of-sale and other activation technology.
  • Ability to accurately complete basic event, sales, and inventory reporting.
  • Ability to learn and confidently communicate Retaaza's mission, products, farmers, and programs.
  • Interest in local food, sustainability, agriculture, community impact, or mission-driven brands.

Familiarity with Atlanta's communities, events, local food scene, or corporate environment is a plus.

What Makes This Role Different

This isn't a traditional desk-based marketing job.

You'll spend much of your time where customers actually experience Retaaza—in workplaces, neighborhoods, markets, community spaces, and events throughout Atlanta.

You'll get hands-on experience across field marketing, experiential marketing, brand activation, visual merchandising, customer engagement, and live event execution while working for a mission-driven company.

You'll also have the opportunity to see the immediate impact of your work: the customer who discovers a local farmer, the employee who becomes a regular market shopper, the display that draws people in, or the activation that turns someone's first interaction with Retaaza into a lasting connection.

For someone building a career in field marketing or experiential marketing, this role offers the opportunity to develop broad, practical experience while taking ownership of your execution in the field.

Schedule & Field Requirements

This is a full-time, field-based position with a schedule driven by Retaaza's market, activation, and event calendar.

Field Marketing Specialists should expect to regularly work scheduled Retaaza corporate, community, and special activations as well as Retaaza’s community markets. Locations and schedules may vary from week to week, but we will try to offer consistency whenever and wherever possible.

Paid working time includes required preparation, loading, travel between Retaaza facilities and activation locations, setup, activation time, breakdown, return travel, unloading, and required closeout activities.

Shifts may take place during weekdays, early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on program needs. Reliable availability and punctuality for assigned shifts are essential.

Some reporting, training, and administrative work may take place remotely or from a Retaaza worksite.

Driving & Physical Requirements

Because this is a hands-on field marketing role, candidates must be comfortable with the physical and logistical side of live activations.

Candidates must:

  • Hold a valid driver's license and meet Retaaza's requirements for operating company vehicles.
  • Be comfortable driving company vehicles throughout metro Atlanta.
  • Be able to safely load, secure, transport, and unload products and activation materials.
  • Be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds unassisted.
  • Be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Be able to repeatedly bend, reach, lift, carry, and move products and equipment.
  • Be able to set up and break down tables, tents, displays, signage, and other activation equipment.
  • Be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Be comfortable working in non-climate-controlled warehouse environments when necessary.
  • Be able to travel locally throughout metro Atlanta.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule based on market and event needs.
  • Be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
